Born out of Copenhagen

Piohni began in a small Copenhagen apartment, on a quiet winter morning, from a deep appreciation for the calm and relief that matcha brings. Yet, time and again, people are met with bitter, low-quality matcha. Driven by this frustration, founder Johanne Cornelia set out searching for the creamiest cup of truly exceptional Japanese matcha, a search that led her to the finest tea gardens in Japan, hands in the leaves alongside farmers who've tended them for generations. She tasted and tested 147 Japanese varieties to create what would become Piohni's signature ceremonial-grade matcha: smooth, round, vibrantly green, naturally sweet, and never bitter.
